Windows 7 RC vs Mac OS X 10.5.7 -Firefox cold start

The test was done on the same two machines as the boot-up test.  As a matter of fact, this video was shot seconds after the ending of the boot up video.

Friends tell me Firefox was designed for Windows, which is why it’s so much quicker. I honestly like to ignore them, because that shouldn’t be an excuse.  I am really looking forward to the final release of 7 so that I can pin it up against Snow Leopard.

I am going to love Windows 7 on my desktop at home.

Firefox 3.5

Ok. So it’s official Mozilla has released Firefox 3.5.  It only took them 99 beta versions, and three release candidates.  But it’s here.  Go get it.  Enjoy the new features.  Now that it’s official I’ll be writing up a post on new features and improvements.

Firefox

Firefox 3.5 has either been released or it’s Release Candidate 3.  An update prompt appeared at 12:06am EDT on my machine. I am not sure, but I am leaning towards RC3 since Mozilla’s site directs you to an RC3 download when clicking latest 3.5 build.

More Awesomer Awesomebar

FFwiki

We all know that Firefox’s awesomebar is pretty damn awesome, but there’s another feature that makes it, dare I say -more awesomer.  If you type a  domain name without the protocol and top level domain Firefox will attempt to add the appropriate ones for you.  If it isn’t successful it’ll send you to the Wiki page of something it “thinks” you meant.  To go straight to a wiki page just include the keyword “wiki” with whatever you’re typing.  If there isn’t anything related on Wiki it’ll use your default search engine to display search results.  I know, it’s pretty awesome.

Be more awesomer, use the Firefox.
