Using Select and Select All function for deleting text on iPhone 3.0!

with one comment

Sometimes we do things we regret. Send a drunk text message that nobody understands. Call someone at 5a.m. (also while drunk). Or just not writing a girl’s phone number down (while sober.)

Thanks to Apple the drunk text messages are now easier to delete before you send them off.  In previous versions you had to hold the delete button to delete all the text you were about to send off.  However, 3.0 allows you to use the select and select all pop options to delete large chunks of text.

For example, this is what you might attempt to send after having had a drink or two (or 12).

Yeah...about that.

Yeah...about that.

As you can see spelling becomes an issue as well.

Let’s imaging that a friend took your phone before you pressed send, and they were kind enough to delete it all.

To do so they have to double tap on the text field to bring up a  little pop up menu. Then they chose select all.

It's ok buddy. It'll soon be over.

With the click of one button (is it really click on a touch screen?) they’ve saved you from a very embarrassing morning story.

That’s it. Just make sure to tell all your friends how to do it so they know the proper steps.

You guys can thank me later.

Note: Text messaging also allows for a landscape keyboard, I just didn’t use it.
